JENGbA Parliamentary Debate

Euan Events, News

Please help JENGbA get a parliamentary debate.
Dear All
We are asking our families, friends and supporters to write to their MP regarding a Parliamentary Debate taking place on 25th January 2018.
This is such an important debate which we have worked hard to secure with the help of MPs Lucy Powell and Andrew Mitchell amongst others.
We would appreciate you taking the time to email your MP to ask for their support, a suggested email is reproduced below.

Dear…
You may have heard that there will shortly be a Parliamentary Debate on Joint Enterprise, being led by Lucy Powell and Andrew Mitchell.
I just want to update you about the JENGbA campaign and how they are still fighting for justice even after their victory in the Supreme Court regarding the Jogee case. You may or may not be aware that since the law was deemed to ‘ have taken a wrong turn’ by the Supreme Court, no further joint enterprise appeals have been successful.
The law around Joint Enterprise remains in disarray and after many meetings with Lucy Powell MP and other prominent MPs, JENGbA have gained cross party support that has now led to Joint Enterprise being scheduled for debate at 11am on the 25th January 2018.
Lucy Powell will be joined by MPs Andrew Mitchell, Bob Neill and David Lammy amongst others. I am asking that as my local MP, you link up with Lucy Powell in the days beforehand, so that you can be brought up to speed and then attend the debate. It is paramount that you catch up and help push for the justice so many deserve.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards

Birmingham bombings inquest whitewash repeated at Guildford

The decision by the coroner at the Birmingham bombings inquest to exclude from scrutiny the very matters that might have allowed the victims’ families some degree of closure – a decision that also denied justice to Paddy Hill and the other unwitting victims of the atrocity – rendered that exercise effectively pointless and, depending on […]

Prisoners denied access to forensic evidence in bid to prove their innocence

For miscarriage of justice victims looking to overturn their wrongful convictions, one of the most significant challenges they encounter is the refusal of police and Crown to allow access to crucial evidence that could fatally undermine the case against them. From The Guardian online yesterday (10 July), we reproduce an interesting article that highlights this […]
