Cathy Molloy

Euan News

It is with a heavy heart that MOJO announces the retirement of our Chief Executive Officer, Cathy Molloy.

Cathy joined MOJO as a criminology student volunteer, one month shy of 22 years ago, having decided on a career change from practising nursing. She never left.

Cathy has been instrumental in driving growth and change that has seen MOJO develop into a very different organisation when compared to two decades ago.

All at MOJO were touched to read a letter to Cathy, from Justice Minister Angela Constance, thanking her for her long service in fighting for the rights of victims of miscarriage of justice.

“You have dedicated more than 20 years of your working life in establishing and driving forward the critical work of MOJO in helping victims of miscarriage of justice. This work has included diligently highlighting the importance of the work of MOJO and delivering additional funding to support your work”

“I am sure all those who have been helped over the years by your efforts will wish you all the best for a long and happy retirement.”

From her early days as a volunteer to CEO, and her current role as a director of the charity, Cathy has been a constant presence, and the friendly face at the heart of the organisation. Over two decades, and despite significant personal challenges, her selfless dedication to the charity and its clients, driven by commitment and compassion, has shaped the MOJO of today.  We cannot thank her enough.

The service users, staff and volunteers offer well wishes, and our thanks, for the many achievements of a remarkable lady. You are an inspiration to us all. Have a long and happy retirement, Cathy.

Excessive use of charging powers observed in joint enterprise trials, say researchers

From The Guardian online, today, we reproduce the striking findings of research undertaken by our London colleagues, Appeal, into the use of the “joint enterprise” doctrine by prosecutors in England and Wales. Our friends at JENGbA have been tirelessly campaigning about this for years. This is not an issue unique to England and Wales. In […]
