“Say I’m Innocent”

Euan Uncategorized

MOJO have been working for sometime with Film Maker ,
Mark McLoughlin (Bang Bang Teo) on a documentary Fallout which will be shown on the BBC and RTE in November 2017. The film is about the failure to provide after care and support to exonorees on their release from prison.

We are campaigning in the UK and Ireland for 4 specific issues:
1. That all the services that are available to guilty prisoners on release are made available to exonerees.
2. That there is a public announcement of their innocence on release.
3. That a transition centre is set up in the UK and Ireland to allow them time and help to re-integrate into society.
4. That a fully independent Criminal Cases Revue Commission is established to examine cases and with the power to find new evidence in cases if required.
We are going to be doing a speaking tour in the UK and Ireland which will include a showing of the film Fallout along with a panel discussion on the issue raised by the programme. We are currently trying to identify organisations who would want to host an screening of the film.
If you are part of a group, union, university, campaign, festival or other organisation who would like to host a screening please contact us.
More details of the campaign can be found on the website.
Thank You

Would your Union, University, Campaign, Society, Organisation, or Group in the UK or Ireland like to host a screening and discussion of Fallout please contact us. (Please share).

Victims of miscarriages of justice receiving no compensation under “outrageous” system

The Telegraph of 11 September carried a shocking story exposing the failure of the criminal justice system in England and Wales to compensate victims of miscarriage of justice. The system in Scotland is scarcely better. Although the tests applied in Scotland are marginally less restrictive, both systems are founded in a piece of legislation, section […]
