The System’s Grim

Euan Events, News

Running until Friday 10 June, an exhibition of original art commissioned by MOJO is being held in Glasgow Merchant City. The artist, Anne Flynn, is a recent law graduate who volunteers with MOJO and is closely engaged with our work. Her art powerfully portrays the lived experience, and the personal trauma, of miscarriage of justice victims including a number of our own clients. It has been created in collaboration with the subjects themselves, with whom Anne has spent many hours learning of the personal tragedy, and the daily challenges, confronted by each over many years.

There are also contributions by Jimmy Boyle, Patrick Maguire, Cookie White and Aadam Mohammed.

This exhibition represents a unique opportunity to see the human cost of miscarriage of justice through the experience of its victims. Get along and see it at 19 Saltmarket, Glasgow, G1 5NA. It’s open between 12.00 noon and 5.00 pm, and entry is free.

From The Guardian online, today, we reproduce the striking findings of research undertaken by our London colleagues, Appeal, into the use of the “joint enterprise” doctrine by prosecutors in England and Wales. Our friends at JENGbA have been tirelessly campaigning about this for years. This is not an issue unique to England and Wales. In […]
