Glasgow, 3rd June 2022

Euan Events, News

To complement the work of artist Anne Flynn and her popular, ongoing, miscarriage-of-justice focused exhibition in Glasgow’s Merchant City, on 3rd June we illuminated three public buildings in Glasgow with some less well-known truths about the Scottish Criminal Justice system and its egregious failings.

The buildings we chose were the Tollbooth Steeple, the site of public hangings in days past, the High Court of Justiciary, whose relevance needs no explanation, and the People’s Palace. It is, after all, the People’s Palace.

These messages serve to emphasise and underline the wider, deeper, issues of injustice so eloquently expressed in Anne’s work. Our hope is that wider knowledge of these issues will stimulate a conversation around how we might build a justice system worthy of the name.
