GTCS: Unelected Quango Acts with Impunity

Euan Uncategorized

Jimmy’s case was never properly investigated by the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS). We know they did not look at the evidence that was available and used information that was untrue in their deliberations. The GTCS spokesperson comment here is less than truthful. The Court of Session ruled in their favour on a narrow point of law. It was hardly a ringing endorsement of their process, because that is not what was under examination. It is extraordinary that since Jimmy was refused the right to teach there have been at least three cases where the GTCS have allowed people who have been convicted of sexual offenses to return to the class room as teachers.
WHY IS JAMES BOYLE, AN INNOCENT MAN, BEING TREATED DIFFERENTLY TO GUILTY OFFENDERS BY THE GTCS?

Victims of miscarriages of justice receiving no compensation under “outrageous” system

The Telegraph of 11 September carried a shocking story exposing the failure of the criminal justice system in England and Wales to compensate victims of miscarriage of justice.
