Joint Enterprise Test Case: Murder Conviction Overturned

Euan Uncategorized

A test-case retried under the newly revised rules on ‘joint enterprise’  has led to man being acquitted of murder. This verdict is significant for  Joint Enterprise Not Guilty By Association (Jengba), a grassroots organisation which led the campaign to have convictions overturned. They secured the backing of the  justice select committee in the House of Commons, and received support from the playwright Jimmy McGovern. Senior lawyers have welcomed the decision.
